    It’s an easy 3-hour drive from Toronto.

    The Edge has central heating and air conditioning providing added comfort.

    It is immaculately cleaned and inspected between every rental to ensure your vacation will be a pleasant one.

  • Year Round Enjoyment

    The magnificent decking and stairs take you to a totally private, deep shoreline and a breathtaking view.

    A canoe and pedal boat are included for even more fun at the water.

    Ask about the 16-foot Bow Rider for rent! Great for skiing and tubing. Water skis and tube are included.

    Winters at The Edge are incredible with the fabulous outdoor hot tub and fresh, crisp outdoors with stunning views and wildlife.

    Enjoy the large screen satellite TV with surround-sound.

    There are 3 bathrooms – the ensuite has a Jacuzzi tub!

    The first floor has full laundry facilities.

    The quiet, private road to the cottage allows for some beautiful and peaceful walks.

    The kitchen has all the conveniences of home: fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, kettle. Charcoal & propane barbeques are there for those great tasting hot dogs and hamburgers!

July and August:

7 Nights: Saturday 4 p.m. to Saturday 10 a.m. - $3500 for up to 8 people
$100 for each additional person to a maximum of 16.

Last 2 Weeks of June, First 2 Weeks of September:

7 Nights: Saturday 4 p.m. to Saturday 10 a.m. - $1400 for up to 4 people
$100 for each additional person
$50 for each additional child under 12 years of age

3-Night Weekend: $650 for up to 4 people

Booking Procedure:

Bookings will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of:
  • - A completed Application Form
  • - A signed Rental Contract
  • - Current-dated cheque for 50% of rental fee

The balance of the booking and security deposit is paid in full 30 days prior to the reservation. The security deposit is fully refunded when leaving the premises in a clean and orderly condition as stated in the rental agreement.

Additional Notes

• There are lots of appliances and utensils in the kitchen. Please ask if you have any specific requests.
• Drinking water – a water cooler is at The Edge and a public water supply is close by.
• Is firewood provided? Yes!
• is there an outdoor fire pit? Yes!
• BBQ's are available year round, both propane and charcoal.
• The fireplace in living room/master bedroom is wood--wood is supplied.
• The road to the cottage is plowed and sanded, but it is sometimes snow covered in winter. Winter tires are highly recommended (as they are for any driving in Northern Ontario in the winter!)
• Yes! We have cell phone reception at The Edge.
• Clients are required to bring linens and towels. Comforters and pillows are supplied.
• Dial up internet is available at The Edge.
• The loft bedrooms have doors.
• There is a boat launch right across the lake from The Edge.
• There are 129 steps and 12 platforms down to Esson Lake, all with stunning views!
• Many incidentals are supplied at The Edge to get you started.
• We are sorry, but there are no pets allowed at The Edge and no smoking.
• Bedroom arrangements:
- Master bedroom: queen and pull-out cot in love seat.
- Africa bedroom: queen
- Hockey bedroom: double
- Loft: two sets of bunk beds (4 twins) and double futon
- Asia-Pacific bedroom: queen

• Weekly rentals only are available during June, July and August.
• Cancellation Policy: Payments received are refundable to the extent that The Edge is subsequently rented for the period cancelled less a $100 cancellation fee.
• There is a caretaker nearby to address any questions or concerns.
• The damage deposit is $750 in the form of a certified cheque or bank draft.
• ATV trails require a trail pass which can be obtained through the Haliburton ATV club.
• Bathrooms: There are 2 x 3-pc and1 x 2-pc.
The Edge is located:
- 2.5 – 3 hours NE of Toronto.
- 5 kms from Wilberforce (groceries, Scotiabank, liquor store, gas station).
- 30 kms from Haliburton (hospital, groceries, beer store, restaurants, etc.)
• A cleaning service is available and can be booked prior or during your stay.
